Gran Hotel Son Net Mallorca

Gran Hotel Son Net is a luxury boutique hotel set in a restored finca that dates back to 1672. Located at the foot of the Galatzo Mountain, only 7 miles from the city of Palma, the hotel has a bird’s eye view of the quaint village of Puigpunyent. The hotel has played host to a number of famous faces including Claudia Schiffer who was quoted saying “the sunsets are incredible and I love art, so I come here to relax in front of the amazing paintings” which include original works by Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, David Hockney, Marc Chagall and classical paintings from other Spanish masters.

The Gran Hotel Son Net features 31 luxurious guestrooms and suites that are individually designed and combine the traditional with the contemporary. Many of the suites and larger rooms have four poster beds and spacious marble bathrooms with heated floors. All of the rooms include modern amenities such as satellite television, DVD players and wireless internet access.

El Gazebo Restaurant is an informal dining venue next to the pool that offers fantastic views of the surrounding valley and cooks fresh food to order using local ingredients and vegetables from the hotels own garden. Open for lunch and Sunday brunch.

Oleum Restaurant is the hotel’s gourmet restaurant headed by chef Christian Rullan who creates innovative Mallorcan dishes applying modern techniques to local ingredients. Open for dinner.

The Bar Son Net has a cosy fireplace with surrounding luxurious and comfortable antique furniture. Tea time is served in the bar every afternoon in the fall, winter and spring season that serves teas, scones, muffins and sandwiches. The pool bar El Mirador serves cocktails, milkshakes and ice creams under the shade of a 500 year old cyprus tree.

Many of the hotel guests enjoy hiking on the Galatzo Mountain and of course cycling on the surrounding tracks as well as wandering into the Puigpunyent village or taking a trip to see Palma. The hotel has a 30m outdoor swimming pool with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The ZenZone Beauty Centre has a fitness room for an all-round workout or choose a treatment from the á la carte beauty menu.

Hotel Son Net also caters for parties, events and conferences and is particularly popular given its surroundings with creative planning sessions and think tanks.
