Mallorca Balloons was established in 1988 with a single balloon for 4 passengers, and now has a fleet of eight balloons of different capacities, the largest of which can carry 16 people. This particular balloon is recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as being the largest in Spain. Pilots at Mallorca Balloons are multi-lingual and, in terms of flying hours, number of landings and experience of handling bigger balloons, they exceed the requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority. Flights are conducted according to aviation norms and contact with Air Traffic Control is maintained. Balloon flying offers an exciting yet peaceful way of seeing the island from a totally different perspective. Flight direction is determined by wind direction and landing balloons are met by chase vehicles for transport back to base where traditional balloon baptism and flight certificates are presented to end the experience. Mallorca Balloons also offers special flights, including mountain flying on the mainland, after-flight picnics, plus the opportunity to advertise by balloon.
