The glorious summer weather in Mallorca is obviously the big attraction but the island has fantastic weather almost the whole year and many visitors come to the island through autumn, winter and spring to escape the Northern Europe blues.
Our Mallorca weather data is collated from the official weather stations on the island, so you always have the best available information. Current conditions are updated every fifteen minutes and our five day Mallorca weather forecast every six hours. Local conditions, particularly in the mountains, may vary slightly from these.

Mallorca’s climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, humid winters. The island is protected from northerly weather systems by the Tramuntana mountains which shield it from winter winds, and collect most of the rainfall. Even in the peak rainfall months of autumn, average total monthly rainfall in Palma de Mallorca is between 55 and 75 mm (2-3 inches), and is significantly less through winter.
Holiday and other outdoor pursuits are all year round activities on Mallorca and are seldom interrupted by bad weather. The peak summer months of July and August, which coincide with school holidays are also the hottest months, with virtually no clouds and about 15 hours of sunshine daily. Protection from the sun is essential, especially if the usual cooling sea breezes mask the true power of the sun – wear a hat, use sunscreen, sunbathe in short doses, and drink loads of water. Except in the mountains, Mallorca winter temperatures are generally mild and, even at night, rarely drop below freezing. Once or twice a year, the mountain tops get a light dusting of snow, which adds a new dimension to this sunny island’s beautiful scenery.
