As you would expect at such a popular holiday destination, car hire in Mallorca is big business and there are many companies to choose from. The standard of roads is good and upgrading is a constant process. We find that road signage is comprehensive and clear and that getting around between towns is fairly straightforward. However, some of the older areas still have narrow streets, (which, of course, adds to their charm) and one-way streets are a feature of most towns. Most car hire companies will hire a SatNav device to you with the car, which will help you with this, and with locating parking areas, fuel stations, places of interest, hotels, and so on.

It is best to make your Mallorca car hire reservation in advance - you will be met by a company representative and you will be on your way in no time. Particularly in the peak summer months, arranging a hire car on arrival can be a deeply tedious and often disappointing experience.
Don't forget to drive on the right, observe speed limits (usually clearly signed), don't drink & drive, and do remember that fuel stations are frequently closed on Sundays and public holidays.
