The rail network in Mallorca currently has plans for expansion, as well as a conversion to electrical motive power. At present, the main services run between Palma de Mallorca and the second city of Manacor, via Inca, with a branch line service to Sa Pobla from Inca. In addition, the famous vintage train runs from Palma to Soller, with a vintage tram connection to Soller Port. This service is extremely popular with tourists.
Our experience is that the trains are reliable, clean and run on time. Provision is made for bulky items such as baby carriages and bicycles on the mainline services only, not the Soller service.

A feature of the bus and train services in Mallorca is the major hub at the Plaça d’Espanya, where all the services come together. This point is very central to many places of interest in Palma, including the main shopping streets.
